Does a sinister service called KGB still exist in Russia? And what’s the key to the abbreviation?

It does in some way - the name has changed but the staff is all the same. Now it’s called ФСБ - Федеральная служба безопасности (Federal Security Service).

KGB has transformed to FSB…

But Putin ha stayed the same

We still like to call it КГБ, be it ФСБ or other service of that kind. Those letters sound more sinister to most people

The abb means Комитет Государственной Безопасности = State Security Committee.

And yes, it still exists… It just underwent a rebranding   And now it’s called FSB (ФСБ). But people who work there are all the same as when it was called KGB.

No, it doesn’t exist but its legend will never die
