Hi again! I saw in the news some Russian people were dressed in scary fancy suits on the Halloween eve. Do you know what it was about? Do Russians celebrate Halloween too??

Yes, we do celebrate Halloween but it’s not a national holiday. Also, children don’t go trick-or-treating on this day. Usually some young people pack into groups, dress up in scary or wacky costumes and go to clubs where the theme parties are on.

Some people do celebrate it in their own way. However, the Russian church by no means endorses this holiday.

Wow! So Russians like Halloween too. I had no idea.

I always dress in a gothic style on Halloween and carve some pumpkins with my girlfriend )))

I work as a teacher of English at school and we always have some fancy dress party with my junior and senior class. I can’t say I enjoy it too much (that’s just my job) but the kids love it. We don’t actually carve pumpkins but we draw them - A LOT
