There’s a big problem with my name in english! It is “ИГОРЬ” transliterated as “IGOR”, but this word is pronounced like {‘aigo:}, not {igor}! To be pronounced like {igor} it should be written as “EGOR”. But that is not possible by the rules of translitterating. And than like how will be pronounced the name “EGOR” which means “ЕГОР”?..

I’m not too sure about “Igor” but Егор should be spelled as “Yegor”.

when you write your name as ‘egor’ it will be pronounced as ‘эгор’. this is due to the fact that russian “e”, unlike the english one, consists of a semi-vowel “й” ([j]) and a vowel “э” ([e]). therefeore i agree with the previous post that “егор” is to be spelled “yegor”. as for the name “igor” i suppose you’ll have to explain to everyone that “i” must sound as [i:] and not as [ai] because in english that letter can be pronounced both ways and there are hardly any rules of its distinction.

Why not spell your name like “Eegor”?
You’ll have no problems then!
